Eliminate Sun Spots, Freckles and Age Spots Effortlessly with Our Advanced Candela Laser
Â
Candela GentleMax Pro Plusâ„¢ uses a combination of two different laser wavelengths to target and removes pigmented areas on the skin. The 755nm Alexandrite laser is effective for treating lighter skin tones and targeting smaller, superficial pigmented lesions, while the Nd:YAG laser can treat darker skin tones and deeper pigmentation. The laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the skin, causing the pigmentation to break down and be naturally eliminated by the body over time.

Preparation and aftercare
Please make sure your therapist or nurse is aware of any medications you are taking as some medications may need to be stopped before the treatment.
1. RECENTLY TANNED SKIN CANNOT BE TREATED! If treated within 2 weeks of active (natural sunlight or tanning booth) tanning, you may develop hypopigmentation (white spots) and this may not clear for 2-3 months or more.
2. Please purchase sun block with an SPF of 30 or above as you will need to use this after your treatment.
3. Please arrive for treatment with clean skin. There should be no lotion, make-up, perfume, powder, oils present on the skin in the area to be treated.
4. Your nurse or therapist may ask you to stop any topical medications or skin care products 3-5 days prior to treatment.
5. If you have a history of perioral herpes simplex virus, your provider may recommend prophylactic antiviral therapy when treating that area. Follow the directions for your antiviral medication.
- NO hot showers, steam, sauna, swimming or heavy exercise for 48 hours after laser hair reduction
- NO deodorant or perfumed products on the treated area in the next 24 hours
- Immediately after treatment, there might be erythema (redness) and edema (swelling) at the treatment site, which may last up to 2 hours, or longer. The erythema may last up to 2-3 days.
- The treated pigment will appear darker immediately and within the first few days following treatment. The darkened pigment will flake off like dry skin within 7-14 days. Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin.
- A topical soothing skin care product such as aloe vera gel may be applied following treatment if desired.
- An SPF 30+ must be worn on exposed treated skin daily throughout the course of treatment to avoid sun damage and the chance of hyperpigmentation (darker pigmentation)

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take for me to see a result after my pigmentation treatments?
You will expect to see an improvement after your first treatment. The pigmented area will gradually reduce and after completing treatment course, you will expect to see at least a 70-80% reduction for the treated pigmentation.
How many pigmentation treatments are required for best results?
Some of our clients achieve full removal from just 1 treatment, but typically 2-3 treatments are needed for full removal.
I am currently taking medication, can I still have this treatment done?
Certain medications can cause the skin to be photosensitive. To avoid adverse reactions from occurring, we advise you to seek medical clearance from your GP prior to proceeding with the treatment.
Is there any downtime after the pigmentation treatment?
There is minimal downtime with this treatment and side effects may include redness, swelling and sensitivity. These side effects are temporary and will subside with correct aftercare. You can expect peeling and darkening of the treated pigmentation around 3-5 days after the treatment. This usually lasts 7-10 days. We recommend following the aftercare procedures provided by your Skin Therapist.
What skin types are suitable for Pigmentation Removal?
Pigmentation Removal is suitable for individuals with fair to light skin tones (Fitzpatrick 1-3) and who are not prone to hyperpigmentation.
Is this treatment suitable during pregnancy?
This treatment is not suitable during the 1st trimester of pregnancy, however, this treatment can be offered during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters with medical clearance provided.
Do you offer a consultation?
Yes! Our consultations are free of charge and no obligation, and last approximately 15 minutes. Consultation appointments are usually immediately followed by the first treatment should our clients wish.
